Ahmedabad, Oct 20: Kiran Bedi on Friday posted a video of an old woman, dancing to the tunes of a Gujarati folk song, and called the woman Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Hiraben. The old woman could be seen dancing to the tunes of a Garba song. Praising the woman for her spirit on Diwali, Kiran Bedi, in a tweet, wrote: “Spirit of Deepavali at the tender age of 97. She’s mother of Narendra Modi (Hiraben – 1920) celebrating Diwali at her own home.”

However, she later admitted her mistake saying, “Am informed it’s mistaken identity. But salute to the mother with so much vigour. I hope i can be like her if/ when I am 96..!” The video has since gone viral. The video was shared by Kiran Bedi on Twitter. The video has gathered 6,013 likes and has been retweeted 2,176 times.

Hiraben

While the woman in the video is not Hiraben, she does make headlines whenever she is out or Narendra Modi goes to meet her. 97-year-old Hiraben had earlier made headlines when she had visited a bank in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, just like other citizens to exchange her currency notes after note ban. Accompanied by relatives, Hiraben visited the Oriental Bank of Commerce and got Rs 500 notes worth Rs 4500 exchanged. She even waited in a queue for her turn to get her old notes exchanged.

IANS reported that Hiraben exchanged demonetised currency for Rs 4500. The bank gave her a new Rs 2,000 note, five notes of Rs 100 and two bundles of Rs 10 each containing 100 notes each.
