Kerala: Supreme Court notes 'sorry state of affairs'; slams to surrender under pressure

Supreme Court has pulled up the Kerala government for relaxation in Covid curbs, even as the state records high cases. The apex court said that the state government has given in to the demand of traders to allow shops to open. It was done even in the zones where the positivity rate was above 15% or more. The court observed, calling it 'an alarming and sorry state of affairs' The court further warned of the increasing rate of virus due to the relaxation in the Covid norms. The Kerala government gave the respite for three days in the local bodies, which fall under A, B, and C category based on the test positivity rate.
