She swore off social media after the death of friend Caroline Flack, but yesterday Katie Price decided it was time to return. The reason? She wanted to wish her fans happy Mother’s Day during these challenging times.
The reality TV star took to Instagram to recognise the strange situation the world is currently in. Price wrote, “With everything going on in this crazy world right now, I just wanted to come on today to wish everybody a Happy Mother’s Day.”
Almost 50,000 people were happy to see her back posting again, liking her post that showed her posing for a photo with her five children – Harvey, Princess, Junior, Bunny and Jett.
Adding, “These are very strange times and I am so thankful to be spending the day with all 5 of my wonderful children. I know many people (including myself) weren’t able to see their mums today and my thoughts are with you all.”
Price was observing government guidelines and keeping her distance from her own mum, this Mother’s Day. Amy Price suffers from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, putting her in the at-risk group during the COVID-19 outbreak. Katie’s heartfelt post on Instagram asked others to keep their loved ones safe by staying home.
She wasn’t the only celebrity to take to social media yesterday to give a shout out to mums everywhere. Victoria Beckham, Amanda Holden and Emma Bunton all took to Instagram to recognise the debt they owed their mothers and to ask people to observe social distancing at this difficult time.
Price left social media on 18 February, after she said she needed a “break from the horrible media world,” after feeling unable to read anymore about the death of her friend Flack online.
The reality TV star received almost a thousand comments from fans happy to see her back on the platform. One wrote how they had “missed” her face while another praised how “amazing” she looked during “this difficult time”.
