5 policemen, J&K Bank guard killed by militants in Kulgam while looting cash van

According to reports, terrorists fired at a cash delivery van of J&K bank in Kulgam.

Militants today killed five policemen and a bank guard of Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Kulgam while looting a cash van.

The terrorists fired at a cash delivery van of J&K bank in south Kashmir's Kulgam district.

A J&K Bank vehicle carrying cash was on way from Nihama to Kulgam when it was attacked by 5-6 militants near Pombai Kakran Agricultural University orchard resulting into the death of five police personnel and one bank security guard.

Another guard who was also fired upon is now critical.

The militants decamped with five SLR rifles from the spot.

Earlier in November and December last year after demonetisation, militants had looted three branches of J&K Bank in Budgam and Pulwama districts of south Kashmir and eloped with more than Rs 30 lakh. After that robbery, security for bank branches in rural areas of the Kashmir Valley was enhanced.
