Karti Chidambaram's dynasty comment is an attempt to soften investigation: Swamy

New Delhi [India], Mar. 7 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) firebrand leader Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday said that Congress leader Karti P. Chidambaram's statement on dynasty politics is an attempt to soften the investigation against their family.

"All these things are done to create impression that they are against the Congress, so that the prosecution by Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) softens. I don't think Karti Chidambaram's hold any credibility," he said.

"It is true that the Congress and most of the regional parties are family-oriented or single person-oriented, but, the realisation of Karti Chidambaram is very funny. It is absolutely absurd. Whatever he is, it is because of his father. The amount of money he has made is because of his father. If the father is corrupt, then the son is super corrupt. They all are going to jail," he added.

Former union finance minister P. Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram said on Monday that there was "ample space for a new political outfit as most of the existing parties, including the Congress, are family-owned enterprises and have shut their door to aspiring politicians." (ANI)
