Karnataka reports 419 fresh COVID-9 infections and four fatalities

Bengaluru, Feb 13 (PTI) Karnataka on Saturday clocked 419 fresh coronavirus infections and four deaths, taking the infection count and fatalities to 9,44,856 and 12,263 respectively, the health department said.

According to the department bulletin, 430 patients were cured of the disease today, taking the total recoveries to 9,26,664.

Active cases stood at 5,910.

Bengaluru urban district reported 258 infections while three fatalities were reported in the city.

Mysuru logged 22 infections, followed by Tumakuru with 20, Dakshina Kannada 18, Kalaburagi 17 and Chitradurga 10.

Cases were also reported in Belagavi, Bengaluru Rural, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapura, Davangere, Dharwad, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, Shivamogga, Udupi and Uttara Kannada.

There was one death in Tumakuru.

Bagalkote, Haveri and Yadgir reported nil infection and fatality whereas Ballari, Bidar, Gadag, Raichur and Ramanagara logged one infection and nil fatality.

There were as many as 66,050 tests conducted on Saturday including 62,303 using the RT PCR and other methods, taking the total tests done so far to 1.79 crore.

The department said 4,380 out of 51,764 targeted COVID warriors were inoculated, which is 8 per cent of the target, on Saturday.

There was one case of Adverse Events Following Immunisation (AEFI) today, the bulletin said.
