Amidst the imposition of a lockdown in the state, COVID norms were seen to be flouted in the Gadag district of Karnataka. Villagers were seen participating in games during a ground-breaking ceremony of a temple without wearing masks or following the social distancing norms. This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on the surging cases in the state of Karnataka in a recently held meeting with Chief Ministers from all states. The state has recorded 34,281 fresh cases and has the second highest death toll in the country.
