Karnataka: 20 children successfully undergo an indigenous ZyCoV-D vaccine trials in a hospital

The first-phase clinical trials of ZyCoV-D, the country's second indigenously produced COVID-19 vaccine, were successfully completed on 20 children aged between 12 to 18 years at Jeevan Rekha Hospital in Belagavi. Two months after receiving the vaccines, none of the children who participated in the clinical trials have experienced any side effects or other health problems. Blood samples and antibodies from all of the children will be checked on a daily basis for the next 12 months to determine the success of the ZyCoV-D vaccine before it is made available to all children by the authorities.
