On Saturday morning, people woke up to the news of Karan Johar becoming a dad to twins, a boy and a girl, through surrogacy. Johar, who kept the news under the wraps for a few weeks, made an official statement on March 5 when he made the announcement about his two children, Yash and Roohi.
He said, "I am ecstatic to share with you all the two most wonderful additions to my life, my children and lifelines; Roohi and Yash. I feel enormously blessed to be a parent to these pieces of my heart who were welcomed into this world with the help of the marvels of medical science."
According to a report in the Times of India, the babies were born in Mumbai's Masrani Hospital on February 7. The births were registered on Friday, according to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Executive Health Officer Dr Padmaja Keskar. And Karan's close friend Shah Rukh Khan is all ecstatic for the new dad. At a recent event, when SRK was asked about the happy news, he told words to link, "It's a personal moment. Let's respect the privacy. Of course we all are very happy. We wish him happiness. It's still very personal. So, don't think I am being cagey by not answering about it. I have had this moment in my life so I know how personal it is. So, let's respect it and leave it at that. We will have love, celebrations, happiness and health later."
Shah Rukh himself welcomed his youngest child AbRam through surrogacy. Not long ago, Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor also became a single parent to baby boy Lakshay, through surrogacy.
