Kannada Actor-Director Kashinath Succumbs To Cancer

The veteran actor breathed his last this morning.

Kannada actor and filmmaker Kashinath is no more. He breathed his last this morning at a hospital in Bengaluru. The actor hailed from Kundapur in Udupi district and is survived by his wife and two children. According to reports, the filmmaker was suffering from Cancer and was rushed to the Sri Shankara hospital two days ago and that’s where he breathed his last.

Priyanka Upendra tweeted as soon as she found out about the veteran actor’s death. She tweeted saying, “Shocked and extremely saddened to hear about the passing on of Kashinath Sir.Praying that his soul finds peace.Strength, love and prayers for his family” Apart from her, Puneeth Rajkumar also expressed grief. He took to Twitter and wrote, “One of the most innovative, talented actor, #Kashinath, passed away today. May his soul #RestInPeace. ”


Kashinath was known for his double meaning dialogues in the Kannada film industry. These reportedly set cash registers jingling after his films released. The actor has worked in over 40 films so far and his last film Chowka released in 2017. Kashinath acted, produced and directed several well-known films that include Hendathi Endhare Haygirabeku, Anantana Avantara, Avale Nanna Hendthi and Anubhava.

Apart from acting and making films, the Anubhava actor also was known as a music director. Thanks to Kashinath, Upendra, Gurukiran, Sunil Kumar Desai got a break in the Kannada film industry.
