Kangana Ranaut Seeks Karni Mata’s Blessings Before Kick-Starting Rajasthan Schedule Of Manikarnika

Kangana Ranaut reached Rajasthan today for the next schedule of Manikarnika

Kangana Ranaut is deeply invested in her upcoming, ambitious film – Manikarnika. The actress flew out of Mumbai this morning for Rajasthan where she will start shooting for the next schedule of the film on Rani of Jhansi. However, before kick-starting the shoot from tomorrow, the actress first went to the Karni Mata temple, which is around 30 kms away from Bikaner, to seek her blessings. She was accompanied by the film’s producer Kamal Jain.

The visit comes on the heels of reports about Karni Sena having joined Brahmin Mahasabha’s protest against the film. Karni Sena was behind the threats, controversies that caused delay in the release of Deepika Padukone’s Padmaavat, and it looks like they are all set to repeat history. However, Kangana’s move to visit the Karni mata mandir, might prove a smart one as it might appease the protesting group, who are Karni Devi worshipers.

The assumptions being made while protesting against Manikarnika are again about a possible distortion of historical facts. However, the makers have clarified that they have done taken utmost care while portraying Rani Laxmibai’s character. The period film was earlier slated for an April 27 release but was later pushed to August 3. Now, the makers have said that the final release date will be announced soon since the VFX will take some time before the film gets ready for release. Considering that we are in February and it is still being shot, the director Krish Jagarlamudi wants to complete the shoot before coming out with a release date.

Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika is said to be made on a whopping budget of Rs 125 crore. While it being compared to Padmaavat in its grandiose and since it is a costume drama, let’s hope the protests don’t catch any heat so as to cause any disturbance in the shoot or delay in the film’s release.
