Bhopal,Feb 5 (PTI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his predecessor and state Congress chief Kamal Nath met here on Friday.
The two leaders discussed the contentious new farm laws of the Centre among other things during the meeting that lasted about 20 minutes, the Congress claimed later.
The meeting at Chouhan's official residence came ahead of likely announcement of civic bodies elections in the state.
The state Congress said in a release that the two leaders discussed the 'black farm laws' as well as issues related to development, while a government release only said that the two leaders met.
Nath, leader of opposition in the Assembly, had earlier called on his neighbour Chouhan on November 11 in the aftermath of an acrimonious campaign for by-polls to 28 assembly seats.
Both the chief minister and the Congress leader have already slipped into election mode though dates for civic elections are yet to be announced.
Chouhan chaired a meeting of state BJP's newly constituted executive committee on Sunday in Indore, while Nath too has held meetings with party leaders over the civic elections and appointed observers for different regions. PTI LAL MAS KRK KRK
