Kamal Haasan says Rajinikanth non-reactive on many subjects, not just Cauvery issue
Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan on Monday said Rajinikanth has been "been non-reactive" on many subjects, in response to a question about his "silence" on Cauvery water sharing.
"He has been non-reactive about many subjects, so we can't really point to one topic and talk about it," Kamal Haasan told reporters in Chennai.
Both students of the late filmmaker K Balachander, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan enjoyed years of superstardom in Tamil cinema before entering the political scene last year.
Rajinikanth has already courted controversy since he officially became a politician. He was criticised when his fans erected banners of him in Chennai ahead of his debut political speech.
More recently, he declined to react on the death of a pregnant woman in Trichy. She had been killed after a policemen kicked the bike she was travelling on.
While Kamal Haasan has revealed the name of his political party, Rajini has kept his supporters guessing - for now.
