The Soweto giants secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Lidoda Duvha in a Premier Soccer League (PSL) match at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
"I like to play well and win the game - this is always my target. I want to play beautiful football and get a result, but the reality is that sometimes it's not easy," Solinas told the media.
Willard Katsande's first half goal helped Amakhosi return to winning ways in the league as they lost to Orlando Pirates and Polokwane City, before facing Leopards.
However, Chiefs were made to work for the victory as Leopards pressed them in search of the equaliser.
The Italian trainer indicated that getting a result is sometimes more important than playing beautiful football.
"Sometimes you don't play well but it's very important that you get the result, and this is the moment where Kaizer Chiefs need the result to gain confidence," he continued.
"When it's possible, we'll play beautiful football that the fans can also enjoy and we'll also get the result – this is the best," he continued.
Amakhosi had to dig deep to overcome SuperSport United in the 2018 Telkom Knockout Cup quarter-final match last weekend.
"But, sometimes it's not possible [to get both]. It's not possible to play champagne football every game, you know?" Solinas asked.
"Sometimes you don't play well and this is the moment you need to fight to get the result. But my target is always to try to play beautiful football, but the reality is that sometimes it's not easy," he added.
"When it's not possible to play well, please, we need to get the result because three points is three points," he concluded.
Chiefs' win took them to fourth place on the league standings - five points behind log leaders Pirates.
Amakhosi are scheduled to face Chippa United on Saturday in their next league game.
