Mumbai, June 11 -- The Mumbai police has said they have recovered five more love letters exchanged between actor Jiah Khan, who committed suicide on June 3, and her boyfriend Sooraj. Pancholi, arrested for abetting Jiah's suicide, has been remanded in police custody till June 13.

Son of Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi, Sooraj had been arrested on Monday on basis of Jiah's mother's statement and a six-page letter found in her flat three days after her death. On Tuesday, the prosecution said even in the fresh letters recovered, Jiah had accused Sooraj of physical abuse, rape, threats and cheating.

The police said it was Pancholi's 'break-up bouquet' and manhandling that had pushed Jiah to suicide.

"In her statement, Jiah's mother Rabbiya said Sooraj had sent her a 'break-up bouquet' after he terminated their relationship. He had also hit Jiah before breaking up and there were bruises on her chin and neck," said a police officer. "These two things, Rabbiya said, were the triggers that led Jiah to commit suicide."

The postmortem report would reveal whether Jiah was punched or not, the officer said.

The police are also trying to find out more about the abortion Jiah wrote she had undergone in the six-page letter. "Although there are no medical means to corroborate this, we have contacted the hospital where the procedure allegedly took place," said the officer.
