Jharkhand registers 139 new COVID-19 cases, 2 fresh fatalities

Ranchi, Jun 24 (PTI) Jharkhand's COVID-19 tally soared to 3,44,914 on Thursday as 139 more people tested positive for the infection, while two fresh fatalities pushed the state's coronavirus death toll to 5,104, a health bulletin said.

East Singhbum district recorded the highest number of new cases at 25, followed by Dhanbad (14) and Latehar (12), it said.

The fresh fatalities were reported in Dumka and Simdega.

The state now has 1,364 active cases, while 3,38,446 people have recovered from the disease thus far, including 190 in the last 24 hours, the bulletin said.

The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients in the state has improved to 98.12 per cent, while the mortality rate stands at 1.47 per cent. PTI NAM ACD ACD
