Ranchi, Jun 27 (PTI) Jharkhand recorded three more COVID-19 deaths and 98 new cases in the last 24 hours, a health department bulletin said on Sunday.
The deaths which were reported from East Singhbhum, Bokaro and Khunti district pushed the COVID-19 death toll to 5,110.
The 98 new COVID-19 cases took the tally to 3,45,259.
Ranchi district reported 18 new cases followed by Simdega (12) and Latehar (9), the bulletin said.
Jharkhand now has 1,113 active COVID-19 cases while 3,39,036 patients have recovered from the infection, including 166 in the last 24 hours, it said.
The mortality rate in the state was recorded at 1.48 per cent, higher than the national average of 1.30 per cent.
The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state has improved to 98.19 per cent, better than the national average of 96.70 per cent.
Altogether, 97,84,355 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in Jharkhand so far, including 52,645 since Saturday, it added.
In a bid to combat the second wave of COVID-19, the government has extended the lockdown like restrictions in the state till July 1. PTI NAM RG RG
