The late Bollywood actress Sridevi was extremely close to her elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor!

It was recently when the late Bollywood actress was posthumously honoured with the National Award for the Best Actor (Female). Her entire family including her husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor had attended the National Awards ceremony.

In a joint statement, they had said, “We are overjoyed to know that the Jury has conferred the Best Actor Award to Sridevi for her performance in MOM. It’s a very special moment for all of us. She was always a perfectionist and it showed in all the 300 plus films she did. She was not just a super actor but a Super Wife and a Super Mom. Its time to celebrate her life and her achievements. She is not with us today but her legacy will always live on.”

It was Sridevi’s elder daughter Janhvi who had accepted the award on her behalf. To make the occasion memorable, the young girl had adorned her mother’s kanjeevaran saree.

After attending the event, Janhvi had a conversation with media where she talked about her mom for the first time after her death. She said, “I think both of us (Khushi and I) would like to thank the jury for recognizing the hard work, perseverance and dedication that my mother has put into this role. It was very special to her and we are very happy that she is being appreciated for it.”

All of us know how doting mother Sridevi was. In fact, she was keeping a close look on Janhvi’s Bollywood debut and was looking forward to it. She is going to be seen in the film Dhadak with Ishaan Khatter.
