Janhvi’s ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ Gets a Release Date

Dharma Productions has announced the release date for Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. A tweet by the production house confirmed the biopic will “take off in cinemas 24 April, 2020.” The accompanying poster asked its audience to “Sit tight!”

Directed by Sharan Sharma, the film traces the journey of Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena, the first woman combat pilot from the Indian Air Force to fly a chopper in a war. Together with fellow flight lieutenant Srividya Rajan, Gunjan faced enemy fire to evacuate injured Indian soldiers during the Kargil War in 1999. Gunjan was honoured by the Indian Government with the Shaurya Chakra for her valour.
