Jammu & Kashmir PDP chief Waheed Ur Rehman Para paid Rs. 10 lakh to Hizb-ul-Mujahideen

An inquiry by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is said to have found Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party chief Waheed Ur Rehman Para allegedly paying Rs 10 lakh to terror group Hizb-ul-Mujahideen to ensure its support ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

In November, just ahead of the District Development Council (DDC) polls in J&K, the Central Agency arrested Para in connection with its investigation into suspended relations between Davinder Singh and the Hizbul DySP.

Para's counsel, T N Raina, declined to comment on this particular NIA assertion when contacted. But earlier this month, Para rejected all charges of Hizbul ties in his bail application filed before the NIA special court in Jammu and indicated that he was framed for settling political scores with a political party.
