Two civilians were killed during in Chadoora area of Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday when an encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists. One terrorist is reportedly hiding inside a house at the site of the operation.
Meanwhile, locals pelted stones on security personnel to disrupt the encounter between terrorists and security forces.

One of the deceased was identified as Zahid Rashid, a resident of Srinagar. He was shifted to Srinagar's Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital. BMO Chadoora hospital, Dr Dileer Bhat said Rashid had a bullet injury in his neck. He succumbed to his injuries at the Srinagar hospital.
SP Manoj Koul told International Business Times, India that they are still verifiying about any injuries or casualties at the site.

Civilians disrupting operations against terrorists in the conflict-prone state has been a matter of debate recently when the Army chief Bipin Rawat had said that those stopping the Army from doing its work in Jammu and Kashmir would be treated as allies of terrorists. Rawat had warned people with dire consequences, which led to politicians like Omar Abdullah condemning such harsh measures.

In another incident in Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists barged inside the houses of two police officers in Shopian on Monday night. The houses were ransacked and gunshots were fired by the terrorists before fleeing.
On Monday, a Hizbul Mujahideen group had been busted in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces also recovered arms and ammunition.
