Beijing, August 30: Billionaire Jack Ma, known for arguing in favour of a 12-hour workday, has now said that people should be able to work just 12 hours a week with the benefits of artificial intelligence. The Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, co-founder said at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai on Thursday that people can work as little as three days a week, four hours a day with the help of technology advancement and reform in education systems. According to a Bloomberg report, Ma cited electricity as an example of how developments in technology can help in getting time for leisure. He has been quoted saying, “The power of electricity is that we make people more time so that you can go to karaoke or dancing party in the evening. Ma further said. “If we don’t change the education system we are in, we will all be in trouble.” In April, Jack Ma defended the "996 system" which means working from 9 am to 9 pm for six days a week. He said that without this way of working, the economy would be affected. He preached that the 996 system is actually a blessing. But people, of course, were not impressed, they had called him promoting a slave culture.
