J&K: Army Jawan Martyred in Ceasefire Violation by Pakistan in Poonch District
Srinagar, Sept 21: At least three civilians, including two men and a woman, were killed and nearly 30 others injured after an unspecified number of terrorists attacked a police party, hurling grenades at them. The terrorists attacked cops at a busy bus stand in Tral of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Public Works Akhtar escaped unhurt in the attack. A search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.
Terrorists opened fire at a police convoy after lobbing grenades at them, reported news agency ANI. “The grenade was reportedly hurled at 11.45 am,” a police official told PTI. Seven personnel of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were reportedly among the injured persons. “The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment. The area has been cordoned off for searches,” police said. Further details are awaited.

The attack came hours after a junior level officer of the Seema Sashastra Bal (SSB) was killed and another injured in a suspected fratricidal firing incident at an SSB camp near the Jawahar Tunnel in Ramban district. The attacks attack come in the backdrop of a spate of successful operations launched by the security forces, inflicting a severe blow to the insurgency in the Valley.
