J&K Police Nabs Three Terrorists Alive, Reiterates Its Offer For Local Militants to Surrender During Encounter
Srinagar, Nov 16: Three terrorists were arrested and one was killed during an anti-militancy operation by security forces in Kund area of Kulgam district, said Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday. Speaking about the anti-militancy operation, IGP Kashmir zone, Muneer Khan reiterated that security forces are ready to accept the surrender of local militants even during encounters.
A soldier was martyred during the gun-battle. The deceased terrorist was identified as Muzammil Manzoor Dar. “Anti-militancy operation Kund has been continuing since November 14. Three terrorists arrested alive in this operation,” Muneer Khan told media.
Security forces, which include 9 RR, 10 Sikhli and 18 Batallion of CRPF, arrested terrorists Shamsul Viqar and Atta Mohd Malik during an ongoing operation in the forest area of Haalan-Kund area of Qazigund, in south Kashmir’s Kulgam. One of their associates Bilal Sheikh was also nabbed alive from the encounter site. “One of the three terrorists is injured, under treatment in hospital,” Munir Khan said.
Speaking about the local militancy, the IGP said Pakistan has been running a relentless campaign to lure Kashmiri youths to join militancy. “16 youths have joined militant ranks in last four months in South Kashmir,” Khan said.
