J&K Police arrests five in Baramulla

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that they have arrested five persons in two separate incidents in Kashmir's Baramulla district.

A police spokesperson said that police in Baramulla's Sopore arrested three persons "involved in threatening and intimidating of locals in the area". The three have been identified as Hilal Ahmad, Sahil Nazir both and Peerzada Mohammad, all residents of Sopore.

"Incriminating materials including threatening posters were recovered from their possession. Initial investigation into the matter reveals that these individuals were involved in publishing and circulation of threatening posters of proscribed terror outfit LeT in Sopore area," the police said.

In a separate incident, officers at a checkpoint established at Kupwara bypass crossing intercepted arrested two militant "associates", identified as Ulfat Bashir Mir and Aijaz Ahmad Bhat.
