J&K: Cable Network Owner Shot Dead By Suspected Terrorists in Shopian

The victim identified as Hilal Ahmad Malik was shot at the main gate of the district hospital when he was sitting with his friends.

Srinagar, August 20: Suspected terrorists on Sunday afternoon shot a cable network owner in Shopian district in Kashmir who died after he was rushed to a local hospital. The cable operator was running Shopian’s main cable network for last more than 15 years.

The victim identified as Hilal Ahmad Malik was shot at the main gate of the district hospital when he was sitting with his friends. Some reports suggest that this was their favourite evening routine.

A report published in Kashmir Life said that Malik was talking with two of his friends when two men came from Bungam side when one of them fired at him and he fell down there.

The ambulance driver of the same hospital took the victim to the hospital where he was given first aid treatment. He was later shifted to a hospital in Pulwama, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The doctors said that the massive blood loss was the reason of his death.

The victim belonged to a well to do family in Kashmir and since last 15 years, he was running Friends Cable network after he took over as the defunct system from one of his friend.

Meanwhile, none of the terrorist’s organisation has claimed the responsibility for the attack. The police officials in the Valley have started their investigation. The cops are clueless of the reason behind the attack. The victim is survived by a wife and three-year-old daughter.
