ISRO espionage case: CBI files complaint against 18 former officers

In the Thiruvananthapuram Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, the CBI team investigating the ISRO spy issue has filed a FIR. The FIR names 18 former Kerala Police and Intelligence Bureau personnel as defendants. The first accused is former Pettah station Inspector S Vijayan, while the second accused is Pettah station Sub-inspector Thambi S Durgadath. On the basis of Justice D K Jain's report, which showed that the spy case was the outcome of a conspiracy, the Supreme Court ordered a CBI investigation. The spy case began in 1994, when Narayanan, along with another top ISRO employee, two Maldivian ladies, and a businessman, were detained on espionage accusations.
