Jamshedpur FC have now drawn their last four matches on the trot with only the win coming against Mumbai City FC in their season opener. They last drew against Kerala Blasters despite leading by two goals at half-time.
There was no doubt of the quality of goals scored by Tim Cahill and Michael Soosairaj, but the team's defensive lapses were more than evident on the evening.
With his first goal on Indian soil which was a diving header, Cahill will be one man FC Goa will have to watch out for. Michael Soosairaj had a good game on the wings and Ferrando will want the youngster to build on that performance against Goa.
Jamshedpur's strength lies in its midfield which is run Mario Arques and Memo. But they will have their task cut out against one of the best midfield in the league on Thursday.
Sergio Lobera will be without the services of Ferran Corominas who is the joint- leading goalscorer with six goals, having scored in each of the four games FC Goa have played so far. After scoring twice and assisting the other two goals in the 4-2 win over Pune City, his studs-up challenge in the dying minutes earned him a straight red card.
It must be noted that besides Corominas, five other players have contributed to FC Goa’s 14 goals so far. While Lobera mentioned that Corominas’ absence will be a big loss, one would expect the rest of the players to step up and ensure that they do not miss the experienced Spaniard.
Manvir Singh would fancy his chances up front while Miguel Palanca may see himself start against Jamshedpur. In defence, Mourtada Fall and Chinglensana Singh are likely to continue alongside full backs Seriton Singh and Mandar Rao Dessai.
Hugo Boumous and Edu Bedia have been in fantastic form this season and their performance will be crucial in determining Goa’s fortunes at the JRD Sports Complex.
Both teams are unbeaten in the league though form is more on Goa’s side.
Can FC Goa continue their goal scoring march or will Jamshedpur FC end their run of draws?
