Delhi Dynamos find themselves in the bottom half of the ISL table once again. In more than 450 minutes of action, the Lions have only found the back of the net thrice – which is the worst start so far this season.
Certainly, the pressure has mounted on Josep Gombau who has to find a way to get his team to gel in the attacking third. Their wingers, namely Lallianzuala Chhangte, Nandhakumar and Romeo Fernandes, do look threatening but lack the composure needed in front of goal. Striker Andrija Kaluderovic has struggled as a lone striker and probably, it’s time for Gombau to deploy two forwards with Daniel Lalhimpuia having returned to full fitness.
Marcos Tebar should possibly make it back into the starting eleven after having recovered from a hamstring injury. There is a good chance Gombau may opt to field Sajid Dhot for Rana Gharami, who had a poor outing against Mumbai City FC.
The key question is whether the Spanish coach would field Albino Gomes in between the sticks so that his team have more foreign players in the outfield or would he stick with Francisco Dorronsorro.
NorthEast United have started the season extremely well with the likes of Bartholomew Ogbeche and Federico Gallego thriving in Eelco Schattorie's system. The Highlanders, having notched up two wins and two draws, sit pretty on the table in the second position and are unbeaten so far.
Ogbeche and Gallego are their threats going forward. The Nigerian has already scored five goals this season but the creative spark from midfield is provided by Gallego. Rowllin Borges has provided some stability in midfield as well.
However, what will concern NorthEast on Tuesday is the fact that they will miss the services of defender Mislav Komorksi who was red-carded against Jamshedpur FC. This should see Schattorie opt to field Gurwinder Singh in defence and add another foreigner in midfield or on the wings.
Pawan Kumar will continue in goal in the continued absence of TP Rehenesh who is under suspension. However, the Highlanders will consider themselves the favourites against a misfiring Delhi Dynamos.
