GAME PREVIEW

Chennaiyin FC's hopes of a refreshing start after the third break in the ongoing ISL season have come crashing down as the Marina Machans lost their fourth straight game on the trot.

Their last win came back in November 2018, a 4-2 win over FC Pune City and John Gregory will be left clutching at memories of that win to inspire them on Saturday when the Stallions come calling.

The English coach has tried a lot of playing combinations but nothing seems to have quite worked in his favour. With Halicharan Narzary and CK Vineeth making their way in on-loan from Kerala Blasters, the English coach will be hoping for some freshness in their attack.

Skipper Mailson Alves will continue to remain suspended, the second of his three-match ban while Inigo Calderon's exit has also left a hole in the squad.

Phil Brown Swindon Town

Phil Brown will be in charge of his first competitive match with FC Pune City, hoping to build on the team's mini-resurgence under interim coach Pradhyum Reddy.

Ahead of the winter break, the Stallions registered their only two clean sheets as they defeated Kerala Blasters (1-0) and FC Goa (2-0) and will be looking to pull to within three points of sixth-placed ATK.

It will be interesting to witness what kind of strategy the new coach will adopt.

Marcelinho and Iain Hume are expected to lead the lines while Ashique Kuruniyan and Robin Singh should be deployed on the wings. Meanwhile, Sahil Panwar returns from suspension and is available for selection.

The Pune City back line marshalled by Matt Mills will have to be vary of a desperate Chennaiyin FC who are badly in need of a win.

Can Chennaiyin FC do the double over the Stallions and pick their second win of their campaign, or will Phil Brown manage to mastermind a win for FC Pune City?
