Table toppers Bengaluru FC take on struggling FC Pune City, looking to consolidate their position at the top of the table.

The Blues are marching strongly at the moment and are yet to taste defeat in the ongoing season. They have won their last five matches out of which four were away from home.

Even after losing their star striker Miku to injury in the last two matches, Carles Cuadrat’s side managed to grind out wins against FC Goa and Delhi Dynamos.

In their previous match against Delhi, Bengaluru did not have the services of Dimas Delgado as well but managed to pull through which augurs well in the coming games.

Delgado is now back from suspension and Erik Paartalu is also likely to start for the Blues against Pune although Miku is out with a long-term injury. Cuadrat is expected to field skipper Sunil Chhetri upfront for the first time this season in absence of the Venezuelan forward.

FC Pune City have had a nightmare season so far as they are lingering in the bottom half of the league table with just one win out of nine matches.

After registering their maiden win of the season against Jamshedpur FC at home, it was expected that the Stallions were finally getting back their form but a 0-2 defeat to NorthEast United meant they were back to square one.

The star-studded attack force comprising of Marcelinho, Diego Carlos and Iain Hume has misfired so far while the defence has been shoddy.

Pune were completely blunt in the attacking third against NorthEast and did not show any sign of improvement up front. The confidence the side gained after the Jamshedpur match might have been completely undone by their performance against The Highlanders.

They now have an uphill task as they face the Blues away from home. Even a point from the match would come as a huge boost for the under-pressure club.

Can Cuadrat’s men continue their unbeaten streak in the ISL and increase their lead at the top of the table or will Pune put a halt to their amazing run of form?
