The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation of India (IRCTC) has revamped their website which will enable people to book their travel tickets more easily now.
The upgradation of IRCTC’s website has also eliminated the need of standing in long queues to get your tickets booked.
Other than booking train tickets, the website displays different travel packages on its home page. If you are planing to travel a lot and take a holiday then on the home page itself you can browse through all the options that are available.
To book your tickets an Aadhar Card is required only if you book more than 6 tickets in a month. With the help of your ID, you can book up to 12 tickets in a month. You can pay for your tickets online using Credit cards, Debits cards, Net banking, Wallets and Multiple payment service. All of these are very easy to use for booking train tickets.
If you want to make any changes in your ticket related to age and name that cannot be done on the website once you have booked the tickets but it can be done at the railway counter.
If you want to cancel your tickets for some reason you can simply go to the website and click on the booked tickets link once you log in using your ID. The amount paid to book the tickets will be credited to your account but after deduction of certain cancellation fees.
Once you book your tickets you receive a mail on the email ID which you have used to Login. The mail will include your Electronic Reservation Slip and PNR through which you can check verification, status and timing of your train. All the related information is present with easy access at the IRCTC website.
