The 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is done and dusted and Mumbai Indians against all odds have won it in the last delivery of the final match. The IPL this time had the tagline of 'Where Opportunity Meets Talent' and the young guns proved right by it. This IPL saw the emergence of the wrist-spinners who spun the web several times around the batsmen to put up some memorable match-ups.
Here is the list of three uncapped players who have performed brilliantly in the IPL.
#1 Rahul Chahar (Mumbai Indians)
Mumbai Indians have emerged to be the champion in this year's IPL and for this, a lot of credit will be given to their spinners. In this, Rahul Chahar has also played a major role as he has 15 wickets to his name with an impressive economy rate of just below 7. The importance of all this increases to a greater extent as he has bowled in crucial over like the powerplay.
When it comes to finding talent, the franchise of Mumbai Indians will always be seen there. In the past, so many years, players like Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Krunal Pandya have been their found and right now they are an integral part of the India in the limited overs format. With a kind of talent Chahar possesses, it won't be surprising if he soon makes it the national colours.
#2 Riyan Parag (Rajasthan Royals)
Apart from Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals is also one side that has always been promoting the youngsters and that too from the very first season. But this year, we saw a young 17-year-old Riyan Parag playing for them with such a maturity which sometimes even experienced batsmen lack.
He managed to play just five matches in this season where he scored 160 runs which also included a half-century in the match against Delhi Capitals after which he became the youngest ever IPL batsman to score a fifty. It was also a must-win match for RR and the no other batsman apart from him, scored good runs. This shows the amount of composure that he possesses and ensures that the Indian cricketing future is in safe hands.
It is also quite sure that Rajasthan will look to give him more chances in the 2020 season and that too at a higher batting order.
#3 Shreyas Gopal (Rajasthan Royals)
Another player from the Rajasthan Royals appears in this list and this time it is their leggie, Shreyas Gopal. Though Gopal's career began back in 2014 where he was a part of Mumbai Indians but he failed to get many chances. He first grabbed the eyeballs during the last year's edition when he was with Rajasthan only.
He picked up 11 wickets in the 11 matches that he got to play but this year he took his performance to another level as he picked up 20 wickets in 14 games at a brilliant economy of just 7.22. In this, he also picked up a hattrick (only the second bowler to do so in this season) which included the wickets of batsmen like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis.
He also possesses good hard hitting abilities at the lower middle order and his this all-around skills may help him grab a spot at the Indian team in white ball format of the game.
