IPL 2019 has reached its business end where almost every game is a do or die battle for most teams. No team has officially qualified for the playoffs yet and more importantly, no team has been eliminated. However, things are expected to change drastically in the next few days.
Teams can not afford to relax at this time in a campaign as even a small mistake could prove costly. Most franchises will lose its important overseas stars this week as the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 nears.
At this moment, Chennai Super Kings are the table-toppers while Royal Challengers Bangalore are placed precariously in the last place. With everything to play for in the last couple of weeks, it promises to be an exciting IPL campaign.
On that note, let's take a look at what each team needs to do to qualify for the playoffs this season.
#1 Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals are the surprise package this season. With seven wins in 11 games, Delhi Capitals' young guns have performed exceptionally well so far. The likes of Pant, Iyer, Rabada, and Dhawan are having a good season with Delhi.
They are currently second in the points table and need a win in their last three games to book a place in the playoffs, which is highly likely given the way Capitals are playing right now.
#2 Chennai Super Kings
The defending Champions are almost certain to book their place in the playoffs. With 16 points from 11 games, Chennai Super Kings are the table-toppers at the moment. CSK have never failed to make it to the playoffs, and have lived up to the expectations this season.
Dhoni would want to win a game or two more to confirm CSK's place in the top two, which will give his team the chance to play Qualifier 1 at Chepauk.

#3 Sunrisers Hyderabad
The 2019 runners-up are having a mediocre outing this season. With five wins and five losses, Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently fourth in the points table. They need to win three more games to confirm their place in the top four.
They could even do with two wins if other results go in their favour. However, with Bairstow set to leave for World Cup preparations, SRH's chances of a top-four finish is 50-50 at the moment.
#4 Mumbai Indians
The three-time IPL Champions are third in the points table. Despite Rohit Sharma not being at his very best, Mumbai have managed to win games this season. With 12 points, Mumbai Indians are comfortably placed at the moment to qualify for the playoffs.
They have two games against KKR and a game each against CSK and SRH. A win or two could confirm their place in the playoffs.

#5 Kolkata Knight Riders
After a good start to the season, Kolkata Knight Riders have fizzled out in the past couple of weeks. After four wins in five games, they lost their next five games in a row, and are currently in sixth place.
Andre Russell has been phenomenal, but their bowlers have not been up to the mark this season. They have to win all their remaining games, or at least win three of the four games and hope other results go in their favour.
#6 Kings XI Punjab
Ashwin's Mankading, Gayle's blitz, Rahul's finesse, Curran's hat-trick, and some inconsistent performances summarise KXIP's season. Only once this season have they managed to win two games in a row, and are currently in fifth place.
With five wins in 10 games, it could go either way for Ashwin & Co. They need to win three of their remaining four games to be assured of a place in the playoffs.
#7 Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB are having a dreadful IPL campaign. With just three wins in 10 outings, the Bangalore-based franchise is last in the points table at the moment. Though they are mathematically not out of the playoffs, they have to win all their remaining games and expect other results to go in their favour. With Steyn back and Kohli starting to find form, all is not lost for RCB at the moment.
#8 Rajasthan Royals
Royals are in a similar state as RCB. They have won three of their 10 games this season and need to win the remaining four games to have any chances of playoff qualification. They were unlucky on occasions as their batting and bowling failed to click in unison.
Ben Stokes has been the biggest disappointment for RR, and Rahane too has had an inconsistent season. With their current form, it is highly unlikely that they will make it to the playoffs.
