Australian all-rounder Ashton Turner is having a miserable time in the T20 format of the game. Turner has not been able to score runs and now has an unwanted record to his name. Turner has scored 5 consecutive ducks in T20 matches.

The first duck came against India in the T20 match between India and Australia, whereas the second duck came while he was playing for Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League.

In the IPL 2019, Turner has recorded three consecutive golden ducks for his franchise Rajasthan Royals. Gautam Gambhir and Shardul Thakur held the record for most consecutive ducks in T20 matches with three dismissals. In the match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals on Monday, Turner was dismissed by Ishant Sharma for zero on the first ball. Ishant Sharma bowled a good slower ball which Turner failed to pick and ended up getting caught at extra cover by the 20-year-old Sherfane Rutherford.

In the match against Mumbai Indians, Turner was sent back to the pavilion by Jasprit Bumrah after being given LBW. Turner’s first duck golden duck of the season was against Kings XI Punjab as he mistimed a shot against Murugan Ashwin and got caught at long off.

Ashton Turner failed to make the cut for the Australian team in the 2019 World Cup. In the one-day series against India, he smashed 84 in the fifth ODI which helped Australia win the series and brought him in the limelight. The Rajasthan team will be hoping that the Aussie all-rounder finds form soon and helps them turn their fortunes around in the 2019 edition of the IPL.
