Aero India 2021: Ground report from Combat Air Team Systems Simulation by HAL
Combat Air Team Systems is an Artificial Intelligence-based system, which will not only reduce casualties in a mission but also increase the strike rate.
The CAT system which could have up to four the war aircraft or AI-based drones will be operated out of a mothership which would lead them.
The mothership, a light combat aircraft, would then direct the warfare aircraft to either carry out surveillance or attack a specific target.
While the system is still in its evolving stage, it could potentially reduce casualties and carry out missions over several hundred kilometres away.
