India vs New Zealand 1st Test is taking place in Wellington.

India vs New Zealand (IND vs NZ) 1st Test, Day 2 Highlights: At the end of Day 2's play, Kiwis had taken a 51-run lead with five wickets in hand. The hosts dominated India with the bat despite early wicket of Tom Latham. Ross Taylor was dismissed by Ishant Sharma, for 44 in his 100th Test, but not before the Kiwis had gotten into the lead. Kane Williamson looked in sublime touch but was ensnared by Mohammed Shami for 89. R Ashwin followed it up with his first wicket of the day by removing Henry Nicholls. Before bad light stopped play, New Zealand had posted 216/5 on the board with BJ Watling and Colin de Grandhomme batting.

Earlier, India were all out for 165 within one hour on the morning of Day 2. Rishabh Pant was run out for 19 soon after he had hit the first six of the match. Ravichandran Ashwin was bowled for a first-ball duck by a Tim Southee outswinger in the very same over, leaving India's tail exposed within 4 overs of the day. Ajinkya Rahane looked to give charge but was caught behind against the run of play for 46. Mohammed Shami's 20-ball 21 gave some entertainment at the end of the innings, but Tim Southee (4/49) and Kylie Jamieson (4/39) ensured India's collapse would not draw out too long. Ishant Sharma picked up the wickets of the Kiwi openers in the afternoon session but little else went India's way.
