In the post-match interview, Kohli credited the team for putting out their best performance in the series and also gave credits to the wife (Anushka Sharma) as she always supported him. He also mentioned that Anushka had been criticised in the past for his poor performance, hence he dedicated the victory and match-winning knock to her.

“People who contribute off the field they deserve a lot of credit as well. My wife who keeps me motivated deserves a lot of credit. She’s been criticised a lot in the past. But she’s one person who’s kept me going throughout the tour,” said Kohli.

Meanwhile, Kohli also becomes first Indian captain to hit three centuries in the single ODI series and also becomes the fastest batsman to score 17,000 international runs and he made it clear that he doesn’t intend to stop anytime soon.

“I have got eight or nine years left in my career and I want to make the most of every day. It’s a blessing that I am healthy and getting to captain my country,” said Kohli. (With PTI inputs)
