After dominating most of the game, Proteas lost some quick wickets at the end of the Day 1 of the second Test at the SuperSport Park, Centurion on Saturday as they were reduced to 269/6. On-crease batsmen Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli have shown solid character till now, especially after India lost two early wickets in the form of KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara. Meanwhile, Vijay and Kohli have also completed the fifty-run partnership and they will need to stay on the crease for the remaining one session as India aim to end the day without losing anymore wickets. Pressure is on the Proteas to break Vijay-Kohli partnership and put visitors on backfoot. IND 80/2
Pujara goes for duck
India in deep trouble as Pujara is back to pavilion without scoring. Confusion between him and Murali which results in run out. South Africa have been tremendous in the field. IND 28/2.
Morkel Removes KL Rahul
Morne Morkel gives the first breakthrough to South Africa by removing KL Rahul. Caught and bowled by Morkel as it turns out to be soft dismissal. IND 28/1.

Morne Morkel departs and that was the last wicket of the Proteas. South Africa are all out for 335 in the first innings.
Du Plessis Departs
Ishant strikes again and removes Du Plessis, who scored a half-century during his important innings. The South African skipper was clean bowled by Ishant as the pacer beautifully bowled the seam delivery which came in and went past Du Plessis’s defence to knock the middle stump off the ground.
Ishant Removes Rabada
Rabada, who was earlier dropped twice in two consecutive delivers, was finally sent back Ishant. It was a short ball and Rabada wanted to pull it, however, the tail ender failed to time it and hit it straight up in the air as Pandya took an athletic catch running forward from deep square leg and then diving to reach the ball.
Captain’s knock by Du Plessis
South Africa skipper Du Plessis once again showed his class by hitting the half-century even when he had no proper support at the other end. Du Plessis has shown tremendous character till now and he will be aiming to covert fifty into hundred, thus helping Proteas to reach the 400 mark.

Shami picks his 100th Test Wicket
Shami provides the much-needed breakthrough to India by removing Keshav Maharaj, which also proved out to be the pacer’s 100th Test wicket. Short ball with some seam movement and it deceives Maharaj as he edges it straight into the hands of the keeper.
Du Plessis, Maharaj off to a solid start
South Africa have resumed their innings on a positive note as the on-crease batsmen Du Plessis and Maharaj have shown solid attitude till now and they are looking adamant. Indian bowlers need to come up with something special to find their first breakthrough of Day 2. SA 281-6

Faf du Plessis and Keshav Maharaj resume the innings for hosts on Day 2.
Having won the toss and opting to bat first, the Proteas got off to a decent start with openers Dean Elgar (31) and Aiden Markram (94) tackling the Indian bowlers well.
Markram who was dismissed six runs shy of his third century became the second-fastest South African to score 500 runs after five test matches. First is legendary Barry Richards.
Hashim Amla (82) consolidated South Africa’s innings along with Markram and kept the scoreboard ticking until the latter fell at the team’s score of 148.
Following Markram’s wicket, A.B. de Villiers (20) chipped in and along with Amla took the team to 199 until the swashbuckling batsman was clean bowled by Ishant Sharma.
However, with Ravichandran Ashwin dismissing Quinton de Kock for a duck and Hardik Pandya chipping in with his top-hole fielding skills, the home team lost three quick wickets for just 23 runs.
Ashwin who took three wickets was the pick of the Indian bowlers.
Earlier, Indian made three changes to their playing XI.
Parthiv Patel replaced Wriddhiman Saha, who was out with a hamstring niggle.
KL Rahul and Ishant Sharma replaced Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, respectively.
Bhuvneshwar’s exclusion from the team was received was surprise by both the media and experts.
The hosts claimed a 72-run victory in the first Test match in Cape Town and lead the three-match series 1-0. (With ANI inputs)
