India vs Bangladesh Third T20I: Deepak Chahar hunts down Tigers, registers best T20I bowling figures of 6/7

On Sunday, seamer Deepak Chahar entered the record books after he broke the T20I record for best bowling figures as he took 6 wickets for a measly 7 runs against Bangladesh at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur.

He beat the previous best bowling figures of Ajantha Mendis. In 2012, Mendis had taken 6/8 against Zimbabwe and 6/16 against Australia in 2011 where he also holds the third best.

For India Yuzvendra Chahal held the record with his 6/25 against England in 2017 which was another turning spell.

Chahar's exceptional spell where he rattled the Bangladesh's top-order and also became the first Indian bowler to pick a T20I hat-trick. The 27-year-old got the lower order wickets of Shafiul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Aminul Islam to complete his hat-trick.

He also toppled the top-order sending Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar back to the pavilion giving India early wickets. India won the match by 30 runs and sealed the series by 2-1.

Chahar's debut figures of 8/10 in a Ranji Trophy for Rajasthan in 7.3 overs against Hyderabad in November 2010 is another moment for the bowler to cherish.
