India vs Australia: Manish Pandey Pulls off a Stunning Catch at Boundary to Dismiss Peter Handscomb, Watch Video
New Delhi: Manish Pandey might have failed to impress with the bat in the ongoing ODI series against Australia but that doesn’t change the fact that he is one of the best fielders in the Indian side, and he showed that with his stunning catch in the third ODI at Indore.
Pandey, who has pulled off some outstanding catches in the domestic circuit, came into limelight at the Holkar Stadium on Sunday, when he pulled off a stunner at the boundary line to send Australian wicketkeeper Peter Handscomb back to the pavilion.
In the 48th over of the game, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a slower one to Handscomb, which was hit nicely towards Pandey who was standing at long-off. The trajectory of the ball made it look like going for a six until Pandey got around to his right, and took a reverse-cupped catch.
However, after realising that he will step over the boundary, Pandey threw the ball back into play to get back on the field and catch it again.
Batting first, Australia got off to a decent start for the first time in the series as Aaron Finch scored his 8th ODI century and helped visitors to a strong total of 293/6 in 50 overs. For India, Kuldeep Yadav and Bumrah picked up two wickets each while Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up a wicket each.
