India suspends flights from the UK temporarily; decision prompted by new COVID strain

India has finally decided to suspend flights from the United Kingdom. This after a new variant of COVID has raised the alarm in the United Kingdom. France became the first country to suspend flights to and from the UK. The decision in India has been prompted by the rising demand from the opposition parties and will be implemented from tomorrow till Dec 31st.

Those who will be reaching India on Dec 23rd, before midnight, will have to undergo a mandatory RT-PCR test. Sources in the Government of India have also confirmed, that as of now no such strain of COVID has been found in any of the patients here in India. Suspension of flights is a precautionary step, which the other countries have also taken.
