As the country battles against the deadly coronavirus amid the raging second wave, 2,63,533 new COVID-19 cases, 4,22,436 discharges and 4,329 deaths reported in the last 24 hours in India. India has recorded a fresh decline in the number of new infections being reported, dropping from 3 lakh daily cases to 2.6 lakh new cases. However, new hotspots of the virus have emerged from villages and rural areas. Experts suggest that the data is unreliable due to a lack of testing in rural areas where the virus is spreading fast.
