India releases 39 Pakistani prisoners in goodwill gesture

In a goodwill gesture, India released 39 Pakistani prisoners which included 21 Pakistani civilians and 18 fishermen across the main land border crossing with Pakistan at Wagah. Sharing his ordeal, a prisoner said that one Bangladeshi national brought him to Ajmer city without visa and stole his bag leaving him with no option than to report to police, adding that he got arrested as he had no proof to prove his point. The release came as a positive step in the wake of recent tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations.
