All India Quiz for School Students on Water Resources: How to Apply and Eligibility for National Level Competition

Against 1.067 million last year, nearly 1.1 million candidates registered for the CBSE Class 12 exam this year.

The government is organising a National Level Water Quiz competition for school children in January next year at New Delhi on water resources. The Central Water Commission, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation will be hosting the event in the national capital. The contest is only for teams of two students from Class, 6, 7, 8 in any regular school of any recognised Board in India and there is no participation fee.

The preliminary rounds of the quiz competition will be held at the 14 Regional centers of the Central Water Commission. The places include Delhi, Bhopal, Lucknow, Patna, Bhubaneshwar, Shillong, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Nagpur, Gandhinagar, Bangalore, Siliguri and Chandigarh and also at NWA, Pune. The first rounds will be based on either written,  quiz or both depending on the response received from the participants. Students will have to make their own travel/ boarding/ lodging arrangements for the first level of the competition.

Winner and runner-up teams will qualify to participate in the Final round to be held in New Delhi. Two participants from each of the Regional centers will be selected on the basis of the performance. The organisers will incur the cost of travel/ boarding/ lodging for one adult per team. Interested schools can apply in the prescribed form online (cwc.gov.in) or through hard copy by mail to the organiser by December 04, 2017.

The schools who want to apply can choose any of the 14 centres according to their convenience. The final round with two teams each from each region and NWA, Pune would be held at Delhi. If more than one entry is made by one school, then its first entry shall only be accepted.
