Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta, Defence Ministry spokesmanThe Pakistan army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars at the Indian Army posts along the LoC (Monday).

"The Indian side is retaliating strongly and effectively," he said.

The exchange of fire is still on, he added at 11 am.
