India fights COVID: Centre confirms 50% vaccine quota for states from May 1st

Recently Serum Institute of India (SII) has announced the price of vaccine doses for state governments and private hospital which are Rs 400 and Rs 600 respectively. From May 1, the phase 3 of the coronavirus vaccination drive is about to begin, where citizens above 18-year-old can participate in the vaccination drive. Now Central government has cleared the air by announcing that it will keep giving all the vaccine doses in its 50 per cent quota for the states. The other 50 per cent quota will take in use flexibly. For the first time, the Centre has agreed to the self procurement of vaccine doses by the state government, which was a consistent demand from the side of the state governments.
