ISLAMABAD: Leader of Pakistan's political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan was injured on Tuesday as he fell off a platform during an election rally in Lahore.
According to Pakistani media, Imran was badly injured on his head and was immediately rushed to a hospital after the mishap. The incident occurred as the lift that was supposed to carry him onto the stage toppled due to sudden increase in weight.
A footage of a local TV channel shows the images of a bloodied Imran Khan as the leader was being carried away from the rally.
He is now reportedly stable and conscious.
Imran Khan, who leads Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, is a prime ministerial candidate in the upcoming May 11 general elections.
