IMD issues alert to 5 coastal states as Cyclone Tauktae set to intensify

India Meteorological Department issued an alert to 5 different coastal states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka against a low pressure intensifying into a cyclone around the 16th of May. NDRF has geared up and made up to 50 teams to tackle the possible after-effects of cyclone Tauktae. An IMD alert has gone to 5 coastal states to gear up against the possibility of Cyclone Tauktae making landfall around the 17th or the 18th of May. Times Now's Shabbir reports that Southern and Western parts of the state bordering Kerala are put on a high alert as far as Tamil Nadu is concerned. Watch!
