IAF airlifts 830 passengers stranded on Jammu and Kashmir national highway

The Indian Air Force helped as many as 830 passengers on Tuesday morning who were stranded at the Jammu and Kashmir highway due to heavy snowfall. These passengers were heading towards Srinagar from Udhampur. Assistant Commissioner Revenue Udhampur Subhash Dogra threw light on current situation and asserted that this kind of airlift operation is conducted for the first time from Udhampur and almost 830 passengers had been airlifted from here. One of the passengers said that many people were stuck at the highway due to bad roads.The Jammu-Srinagar National highway continued to remain closed for the traffic on the 7th consecutive days due to fresh snowfall and landslides.
